As a parent, you always want your kids to learn things you already know about life so they do not make the same mistakes you did.
However, most parents try to force ideas into their childrens’ heads instead of allowing them to make mistakes so they can learn for themselves. Parents cage their children (hopefully not literally) in hopes they they do not make mistakes, which internally makes kids more curious.
Personally, the only thing I want to teach my kids is how to actively use their senses. I want my kids to be able to communicate with others using language (body and verbal). I want them to be observant of their surroundings as well as the people in their surroundings. I want them to not only listen to what people say, but understand the meanings behind it. Although, if you notice, I said I want, I want, I want. As a parent, these are your personal expectations. At the end of the day, a child has his or her own free will and will do as they please regardless of what they are taught.
